A sesamoid is a bone embedded in a tendon.
The internal jugular vein and the subclavian vein join to form the innominate vein (Right and Left) unlike the arteries where the right common carotid and subclavian arteries do not arise separately from the arch of aorta. They arise from the innominate (brachiocephalic) artery; whereas the left common carotid and left subclavian arteries arise directly from the arch of aorta. There is no left innominate (brachiocephalic) artery.

The external jugular vein joins the subclavian vein before the formation of innominate vein (brachiocephalic vein)
(Brachium = upper arm Cephalus = head)
